“Ash and Salt” focuses on the stories of six individuals trying to survive in the aftermath of destruction and death in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories. For years, under the ongoing occupation and policies of genocide, the name “Palestine” has become synonymous with sorrow and death. Until now, those who lost their lives under the devastating force of war have mostly been described by numbers, ages, and the locations where they were killed. In a reality where death has become normalized and lives are reduced to statistics, this documentary brings forward the struggle to sustain life as its central narrative.
